Tungsten is roughly 1.7× denser than lead. The same weight is smaller, harder and faster — it slices through the mat, keeps a compact profile on the fall, and telegraphs every tap up the line.

Thread the bobber stopper on your braid and slide the tungsten weight to it — the stopper pins the weight so it can't slide on the hookset. Tie on the flipping hook, peg the punch skirt over the hook's eye, and you're fishing the thickest cover on the lake.

Why tungsten instead of lead?
Tungsten is about 1.7× denser than lead, so the same weight is noticeably smaller — a tighter profile through the mat and a faster, more compact fall. It's also much harder, so it doesn't deform on rocks or wood, and it transmits bottom contact better through your braid.
What weight should I start with?
3/4 oz for thinner mats and early-season hydrilla; 1 oz once the canopy thickens or when you're punching into lily pad roots. The kit includes both so you can match conditions on the water.
Will it work on my line and rod?
Yes — it's built around 15–65 lb braid. The bobber stopper pins the weight above the hook so it won't slide or beat up your knot on the hookset. Any heavy-action casting rod in the 7'3"–7'11" range pairs well.
